Preparing for your wedding? Our cosmetic staff would welcome the opportunity to discuss your needs and make recommendations. Be sure to focus on these areas:
If you are suffering from Acne your dermatologist can help. Your doctor may prescribe medications, or administer facial peels to knock out bacteria and oils. You should see the dermatologist six months before the wedding. This will allow your skin to adjust to a new regimen, and your body to any new medications.
Our aesthetician can provide a series of facials that will clear blackheads, slough off dead skin cells, and improve circulation. (Start these appointments six months prior to your event. Do not get a facial within ten days of your wedding.)
Dark circles and puffiness are common due to the stress of wedding preparation. The skin around your eyes is particularly sensitive. Remove your eye makeup with a water-soluble remover and avoid rubbing. A nightly application of eye cream, in combination with adequate sleep, will improve the appearance of dark circles. Apply a cool compress once or twice a week to help keep puffiness at bay. Avoid salty food, which can cause your eyes to look swollen.
Be sure to prepare your lips for your most important kiss. Combat cracks and creases that weather and nervous lip biting can cause by using a Vitamin E lip balm. You should also exfoliate your lips at least once a week, to clear away dead skin Wet a toothbrush with warm water and brush lips with a gentle back-and-forth motion. The sun can leave lips looking, and feeling, parched be sure to use sun screens for protection.
Neck and Decolleté
Since your gown no doubt shows off your neck and decollete, be sure to take care of this region. This area requires special care because the skin here is more fragile. Use a light moisturizer and a protective sun screen to protect this area.
