Booking Styles

Booking Styles - (Appointment Book)

Click Appointment, Click Appt. Setup, Click Booking Styles, Select the Employee.  For a new employee select ALL services, which will allow you to define the time and whether the employee performs the service.  If you need to update an existing employee, select the service to be changed.

Booking Styles are one of the most difficult areas to be completed, not from a computer point of view, but from the aspect that the employee must decide how much time they require for each service they perform.

Booking Styles are based upon five pieces of information summarized in the table below.

Book Out Time required to start client
Available Time available to complete another client
Finish Time required to complete first client
Available 2 Time available to complete another client
Finish 2 Time required to completely finish first client

Now that you're confused by the above table, let us explain.  Say for example, you have customer that is receiving a Perm.  The Book Out time is 30 minutes for you to wrap the perm, the client will be under the dryer for 30 minutes, the Available time, during which time you can do another client haircut, and finally 30 minutes to complete the original perm customer which is the Finish time.  The only time the Available 2 and Finish 2 are used regularly is if the client was receiving a perm and color on the same day.

Technical Card Required

Checkmark the Technical Card Required if the service would require technical information such as the color used or perm used.  The technical card information is printed on the Work Ticket which would be at the employee's station, saving them the time of finding it in the computer.  This is especially valuable if you don't have computer terminals available for staff except behind the front desk.

Assistant Timing/Second Booking Choice - (Optional not shown on screen)

If the employee is working with an assistant, these times must be filled in.  This Booking Style is used whenever the employee is working with an assistant.  For example, when the employee works without an assistant they may want 45 minutes to wrap a perm, but with an assistant they may only require 30 minutes, since the assistant is getting the perm and supplies for them.

Employee does NOT perform Service

Click this button if the employee does not perform the service.  This will remove the service from the Service Selection screen so the employee does not get booked for services they don't perform.

Perform Service on these Days - (Optional not shown on screen)

The Perform Service on these Days allows an employee to perform hair services on Monday and Tuesday and book only nail services on Wednesday through Friday.

Though a simple procedure, the defining of Booking Styles requires time and thought to ensure that your employees get the correct time to perform services on the client.
